Seven questions, yes or no, about one outcome and one executive. Answer them honestly and alone. Two nos in the first block stop you. The last three do not stop you, but they go in writing before you start.
The outcome and its owner
All four must be yes. If not, pick another outcome or another owner; the playbook says why.
The organisation
Two of these stop you. Three do not, but the first hard decision will test them, so they are written into the contract before you begin.
What the test is, and is not
It is step 2 of the playbook, on one page. It is not a diagnosis of your organisation; a no means this discipline's assumptions do not hold for this outcome, not that something is wrong with you. Consensus decision-making, hierarchy, outsourcing and shared authority are ordinary features of large organisations. The test exists so that you find that out here, for free, rather than in week six with a suspended programme.
